Applications are now available for the 2025 Tarkington NEU Scholarship, which will provide $500 to a former Tarkington student who is currently a senior in high school and intends to enroll in college, university or career training coursework for the fall 2025 school year.
Tarkington has been raising funds for its scholarship program since 2014, collecting more than $6,000 as of April 2023. The funds have been generated through a variety of school-hosted events, including cardboard challenges and movie nights, which have brought the community together in support of this initiative.
Since 2016, the school has awarded two $500 scholarships annually to graduating seniors who once attended Tarkington. This tradition began with the first senior class eligible after Tarkington became a No Excuses University school in 2009, underscoring the school’s commitment to fostering a college-bound culture.
In order to qualify, an applicant:
In addition to submitting academic records, applicants will be asked to write an essay in response to the question: “How has attending a No Excuses University school impacted your choice to attend a place of higher learning?”
