CCSD21 invokes severance clauses of two administrators; reassigns one

April 10, 2025

Topic: Updates

The Board of Education, during its special board meeting on April 10, invoked the severance clauses and will pay the severance amounts reflected in Section 19(B) of the employment contracts of Micheal DeBartolo, assistant superintendent of finance and operations, and Kim Cline, assistant superintendent of support services.

Additionally, the board has approved the reduction in force of full-time administrators and has honorably dismissed Melissa Mariconda from full-time employment as an administrator and reassigned her to a full-time teaching position within District 21 for the 2025-2026 school term.

While we do not comment on personnel matters, we hope it is understandable that all organizations change from time to time and that our focus remains on providing our students and their families the best possible educational experience. These changes will not impact student programming or curriculum.

The board and district would like to wish Micheal and Kim the best in their future endeavors and Ms. Mariconda success in her new position.
