May 28, 2020

Topic: Student Learning

CCSD21 will offer Reading & Math Boot Camps this summer to students who completed grades K-7 during the 2019-2020 school year. The Boot Camps will be held virtually and students will utilize their district Chromebook to engage in e-learning with a CCSD21 teacher through Google Meets.

Each day will begin with a live 30-minute whole group video session where the teacher will launch the day’s instruction with students. Each day will end with a live 30-minute whole group video session. Students will be broken into small groups and will meet with the teacher and small group one time per week for guided activities and instruction via live video. Other student work will be independent and teachers will have an additional 30 minutes daily for office hours for individual support.

The Summer Reading & Math Boot Camps will take place the weeks of July 27th and August 3rd, and sessions will be offered from 9:00 to 11:00 AM and 12:00 to 2:00 PM. Parents can elect to have their children participate in just math, just reading, or both math and reading. Parents can also elect to enroll their children for one week or two.

There is no cost for this program. The deadline to register is Friday, June 19.
