CCSD21 parents,
In response to several parent questions, CCSD21 is researching the feasibility of offering a voluntary hybrid (in-person and distance based) learning schedule for Grades K-8 for the 2020-2021 school year.
The District has NOT made a determination on offering a hybrid option at this time. This survey will provide important data supporting district officials in making this determination.
A hybrid schedule would provide parents the option to have their children attend in person for core area instruction and complete all other instruction in a distance learning environment, which may be self-paced utilizing district distance learning platforms.
Were a hybrid option offered, no mid-day bus transportation will be available. Students eligible for bus transportation may ride the bus in the AM (if attending an AM in-person schedule) or may ride the bus home at the end of the regular day (if attending a PM in-person schedule). Parents will be responsible for mid-day transportation.
All health and safety requirements, including the wearing of a face covering and completion of a daily health certification process will be required of any student attending an in-person program.
Due to the complexity of the school day schedule and assignments of special and exploratory faculty members, it may not be possible to offer core instruction for all grade levels at the same time of day and subject matters completed in a distance learning environment may not be instructed by the child’s home room teacher. Siblings in different grade levels or classrooms may not have similar schedules.
