Topic: Board of Education

At its May 17 meeting, the Board of Education received the Design21 Action Plan — the culminating work from the year-long community engagement process where community members explored priorities for the future of our schools and students.

The comprehensive Action Plan – as well as all documents related to the Design21 process – can be found at www.ccsd21.org/design21.

Among many components of the plan, Board President Phil Pritzker shared comments specifically related to District finances and investment in future building enhancements across CCSD21.

β€œAfter considerable review, study, and in-depth consideration with our administrative team and our external consultants, the Board has reached a unanimous consensus that we will look to place a referendum question on the November ballot this fall,” Pritzker said.

In the coming weeks, information will be shared that breaks down the anticipated investment. Generally, the schedule will include an investment in maintenance and upkeep of our buildings to ensure they are poised to serve our community well into the future, enhancements to further secure our buildings and provide for student and staff safety, and installation of systems to provide air conditioning districtwide.
