Message from Dr. Connolly: Distance Learning Days

February 19, 2019

Topic: Board of Education

Dear parents,

The CCSD21 Board of Education meets regularly to set the direction and make decisions that impact School District 21.

At our February meeting this week, the Board of Education will explore the possible use of Distance Learning Days – an option available to schools in the state of Illinois which allows students to engage in meaningful learning when school is closed due to inclement weather or another emergency situation.

As a potential new practice for the district, the Board of Education and administration will be discussing the impact of Distance Learning Days on the education environment and ways in which Distance Learning Days might be successfully utilized.

The Board of Education will engage in this conversation with the administration at its meeting this Thursday, February 21. The meeting begins at 7:30 PM at the Gill Administration Center (999 W. Dundee Rd., Wheeling – the east side of London Middle School). Please enter Door 2A at the east side of the Administration Center.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael Connolly
Superintendent of Schools
