May 12, 2025

Topic: Updates

Dear District 21 community,

We want to inform you of an ongoing investigation by the Wheeling Police Department involving an incident that occurred over the weekend at Pleasant Run/Four Acres Park. According to police reports, a woman distributed candy to children at the park, after which four children became fatigued and sluggish. One child tested positive for THC, a psychoactive compound found in cannabis, after being evaluated at a local hospital. Police found a product labeled “MOJO THC MILK CHOCOLATE” at the scene, which was believed to be connected to the incident.

The woman involved is currently unidentified. She is described as a white female, approximately 50 to 60 years old, heavyset, with a blue cross tattoo on her shoulder. She was last seen wearing a blue and white leather jacket and walking southbound from the park.

All CCSD21 schools have been alerted to this incident, and staff will be closely monitoring our campuses.

If this woman is seen on or near any of our school campuses, do not engage or confront her. Instead, please:

  • Call the police immediately by dialing 9-1-1

  • Alert your school office right away

The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority. We are in close communication with the Wheeling Police Department and will continue to monitor the situation closely. We urge you to talk to your children about never accepting food or items, including trash, from strangers and to report anything that makes them feel unsafe.

If you have any information related to this individual or the incident, please contact the Wheeling Police Department at 847-459-2632.

Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael Connolly
