CCSD21 schedules preview nights for families of incoming kindergarten students

Community Consolidated School District 21 will host preview nights for new kindergarten students entering the 2024-2025 school year. Starting Thursday, May 2, families are invited to local elementary schools at 5 p.m. at the following locations across the district to meet the principal, tour the school, learn about the daily schedule, gain ideas on how to prepare for the upcoming school year and receive assistance with registration. Attendees will also receive a gift for their student(s).

  • Thursday, May 2: Tarkington Elementary School – 310 Scott Street, Wheeling
  • Tuesday, May 7: Kilmer Elementary School – 655 Golfview Terrace, Buffalo Grove
  • Thursday, May 9: Twain Elementary School – 515 Merle Lane, Wheeling
  • Monday, May 13: Poe Elementary School – 2800 N. Highland Ave., Arlington Heights
  • Monday, May 13: Longfellow Elementary School – 501 S. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights
  • Wednesday, May 15: Riley Elementary School – 1209 E. Burr Oak Dr., Arlington Heights
  • Wednesday, May 15: Field Elementary School – 51 St. Armand Lane, Wheeling
  • Wednesday, May 15: Frost Elementary School – 1805 Aspen Drive, Mount Prospect
  • Thursday, May 16: Whitman Elementary School – 133 S. Wille Ave., Wheeling

The district previously announced it would continue to provide all enrolled students with school supplies required for the 2024-25 academic year, and waive registration fees for each student. This marks the fifth consecutive year the district has made this decision.

Children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2024, are eligible to attend full-day kindergarten in the fall of 2024. For more details on registration for new kindergarten students, including materials parents need to provide in order to enroll, visit ccsd21.org/registration.
