Emergency Closing Information
In the event of bad weather or any other reason that would force school to be closed, District 21 will officially post that information here on the District 21 website. The closing information will also be shared through ParentSquare and through major news media outlets, such as WGN, WBBM, WMAQ, WLS, and WFLD.
When making the decision to close school, School District 21 staff members carefully consider the safety of students and staff. There are many factors that impact this decision, including, but not limited to, the ability of our students and staff members to get to and from school safely, the current and forecasted weather. There are five additional days that are built into the school calendar in the event that school is closed.
