CCSD21 wins five prestigious awards from NSPRA

Community Consolidated School District 21 has been honored with five awards from the National School Public Relations Association, a professional association for school communications specialists, superintendents and others responsible for improving communication within school districts and between districts and the citizens they serve.

The awards were announced ahead of the annual NSPRA conference, where school districts from across the country will gather to celebrate outstanding achievements in school public relations. According to the association, a record number of entries were submitted for the program this year.

The accolades include:

  1. Award of Excellence for a Video Produced with a Contractor: “We are CCSD21!”
  2. Award of Merit for a News Release: “CCSD21, CCSD59 enter intergovernmental agreement to share director of school safety and security”
  3. Honorable Mention for Handbook/Guide: Welcome Kits
  4. Honorable Mention for Newsletter: Redesigned Newsletter for 2023-2024
  5. Honorable Mention for In-House Video: Kilmer’s “Don’t Be Late to School”

Cassandra Young, director of communications and community engagement, acknowledged the team effort behind these achievements: “Winning five awards from NSPRA is an incredible honor. It reflects our commitment to keeping our community informed and engaged. I’m proud of our team’s creativity, innovation, and dedication to excellence.”

The district will be officially recognized on the NSPRA website and during the Annual Meeting and Celebration of Achievement at NSPRA 2024 on Sunday, July 14.
