Calendar for 2024-2025 academic year now available

During its December 2023 meeting, the Community Consolidated School District 21 Board of Education formally approved the calendar for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Among the highlights:

First Day of Classes (Grades 1-8): Aug. 28, 2024
First Day of Classes (Pre-K): Aug. 29, 2024
First Day of Classes (Kindergarten Group A): Aug. 29, 2024
First Day of Classes (Kindergarten Group B): Aug. 30, 2024
Fall Break: Nov. 25-29, 2024
Winter Break: Dec. 23, 2024 – Jan. 6, 2025
Spring Break: March 24-30, 2025
Last Day of Classes (tentatively): June 10, 2025

Concerning the later start date, the district will undertake significant construction projects over the summer aimed at enhancing our facilities. These projects are crucial for creating a better learning environment for our students, improving safety measures, and enhancing the overall infrastructure of our schools. To ensure the successful completion of these projects, it became necessary to extend our summer break until Aug. 28. This extra time will give our construction teams the required time to finalize their work, ensuring each school is ready to welcome students in a safe and optimal manner. We do apologize for any inconvenience with this new schedule, but we remain committed to delivering an exceptional educational experience for our students, and these projects are a crucial step in achieving that goal.
