CCSD21 schedules preview nights for families of incoming kindergarten students

 

As anticipation for the upcoming academic year builds, Community Consolidated School District 21 (“CCSD21”) is thrilled to announce its much-awaited kindergarten preview nights, offering a sneak peek into the world of elementary education. These events are designed to welcome prospective kindergarteners and their families, providing an invaluable opportunity to explore our educational facilities, meet dedicated educators, and embark on an exciting journey of learning and growth.

Starting Monday, May 5, at 5 p.m., these events promise an engaging and informative experience for families preparing to embark on their child’s educational journey:

• Monday, May 5: Kilmer Elementary School – 655 Golfview Terrace, Buffalo Grove
• Tuesday, May 6: Twain Elementary School – 515 E. Merle Ln., Wheeling
• Wednesday, May 7: Poe Elementary School – 2800 N. Highland Ave., Arlington Heights
• Wednesday, May 7: Riley Elementary School – 1209 E. Burr Oak Dr., Arlington Heights
• Thursday, May 8: Tarkington Elementary School – 310 Scott Street, Wheeling
• Monday, May 12: Whitman Elementary School – 133 S. Wille Ave., Wheeling
• Tuesday, May 13: Longfellow Elementary School – 501 S. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights
• Tuesday, May 13: Frost Elementary School – 1805 Aspen Drive, Mount Prospect
• Wednesday, May 14: Field Elementary School – 51 St. Armand Lane, Wheeling

“At CCSD21, we believe that a strong foundation in early childhood education is paramount to a child’s future success,” said Amy Breiler, director of literacy. “Our kindergarten preview nights are designed to offer families a glimpse into the enriching experiences and educational opportunities that await their children in our kindergarten program. We are excited to welcome prospective families and showcase the incredible journey that lies ahead.”

CCSD21 previously announced it would continue to provide all enrolled students with school supplies required for the 2025-26 academic year, and waive registration fees for each student. This marks the sixth consecutive year the district has made this decision.

Children who will be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2025, are eligible to attend full-day kindergarten in the fall. For more details on registration for new kindergarten students, including materials parents need to provide in order to enroll, visit ccsd21.org/registration.
