Dear CCSD21 families,
I have been in touch a multiple times this week with important updates. Please see below for a summary and a few additional notes.
Distance Learning Planning Day
As a reminder, our fifth Distance Learning Planning Day is tomorrow, May 1. Students will be given learning activities but staff will be engaged in meetings, planning, and professional development and will not be available to respond to students and parents.
Curbside Pick-Up
Parents can collect their student’s locker contents and classroom supplies through curbside pick-up at one of the following times. Principals will be in touch with further reminders and directions.
Families should drive to school and remain in their car during curbside pick-up. Walk-up distribution is not available at this time. Please display a sign in your car window with the following information for EVERY student:
Chromebooks
Eighth grade students will return their Chromebooks after June 9, the last day of school. Further details will be shared with 8th grade families as we approach the end of the year. All other students will keep their Chromebooks over the summer.
End of year celebrations
Due to the Governor’s extended Stay at Home order and guidance to practice social distancing and limit group gatherings, all in-person gatherings and celebrations for the end of the year have been cancelled. Thank you for your understanding in supporting our community’s health.
Food service
Free breakfast and lunch will continue to be served on weekdays during the school year, from 9:30-11:30 AM, at locations throughout the community. This service is available to all children in our area, age 18 and younger.
Distance Learning survey
Finally, with more than a month of Distance Learning under our belts, and just over a month to go until the last day of school, we are looking for parent feedback. Please complete this survey to share your thoughts and your family’s experiences with Distance Learning.
Thank you again for your ongoing support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Michael Connolly
