Roy Eiermann’s personal mission is to help others reach their full potential. It’s not just a nice statement or lofty goal; Eiermann works on this objective every day as the clinical director  at OMNI in Wheeling.

OMNI is a 51-year old organization that provides a number of helpful services to the community and our district, including counseling, promoting healthy behaviors, child abuse prevention, family preservation, and providing valuable resources for families, among other services. CCSD21 and OMNI have been partners for several years and the relationship between the two entities is as strong as ever.

While OMNI has accomplished a lot – including servicing over 750,000 individuals and family members over the years –  it has also evolved to address the ever-changing behavioral health needs of the community, including many students from District 21. “OMNI’s partnership has been an invaluable resource for our students,” said Kim Cline, assistant superintendent for student services and school safety.

“We try to maximize our reach to impact as many students as possible. Sometimes, we go into the schools to observe a classroom and advise teachers to be able to help more broadly,” said Eiermann. “We can be a fresh face for students who might be stuck.”

Additionally, OMNI provides individual and family therapy through Medicaid managed insurance providers. “We shape individual behavior with gentleness and a trauma-informed lens that allows us to connect with students and help them navigate the challenges of life,” added Eiermann.

These counseling sessions offer a safe and confidential space for students to explore their thoughts, emotions and experiences to foster personal growth and emotional well-being. Through empathetic listening and guidance from trained professionals, OMNI helps our students manage stress, heal from past traumas, enhance self-awareness and build healthier relationships. By nourishing self-reflection and providing tools for self-improvement, District 21’s partnership with OMNI empowers students to make positive changes and lead more fulfilling lives – objectives that Eiermann would be proud of.
